Stack decisions are frequently made on preference and novelty. They should be made on constraints: the lifetime of the system, who will maintain it, how quickly the team must ship and what the integration landscape looks like.
Favour mature, widely adopted technology for the core of a business system. A common stack means documentation exists, problems have been solved publicly and you can hire people who already know it in two years' time.
Reserve novelty for the parts of the system where it provides a genuine advantage, and isolate it behind clear boundaries so it can be replaced without rewriting everything around it.
Finally, weigh the operational cost. A stack that is pleasant to develop in but expensive to run and difficult to monitor will cost more over five years than the development time it saved in the first three months.
